Saloon, Theby c from Adams Morganposted March 25, 2007 Fun: 8, Service: 3, Patrons: 7, Crowded: 5, Value: 6 we decided to call him the beer naziOk so we went there based on the bad rating of the bartender because we wanted to see how crazy he was. he's definitely nuts. But I think its just the weird rules, which are: If you dont have a chair they wont' serve you, nay, they will ask you to leave. While I was there, and it was crowded, I saw two groups of about 10 people come in and subsequently get asked to leave. the bartender won't nicely tell you that there aren't enoough tables to serve you or that they are overcrowded (which they never are if you just allowed people to stand), but he will tell you you aren't wanted in an incredulous tone like you should already know that they have this weird rule about standing. there is a small sign at the bar that tells you they don't allow standing. "allow standing"... yeah just an awkward experience overall, good beer selection, decent environmemt but no music made it weird, and when the bartender talks to you, he'll mumble something and laugh, and you will sit there politely and smile because you'll have no idea what he meant(though you will know what he said), I feel bad for his help. but worth it for a laugh. I recommend going in there with a large group and refusing to sit anywhere saying you prefer to stand, and watching the insanity insue.
